  • Good choice
Icelanders are known to love foreigners and that's what we experienced...The room was kinda small, but very clean and comfy. Located quite close to the city center and next to the sea, there really isn't anything that could hold you back from booking a room at this hotel.

  • Harbour views
Excellent hotel with a unique design feel to it. We had an attic room with stunning views out over the harbour to mountains beyond. We were even lucky enough to see northern lights from the balcony! The staff were really friendly and helpful, sorting out all restaurant reservations and day trips making for a stress free holiday.

  • Excellent short break
It was a really comfortable room. We received good service from very friendly staff. We did not eat in the restaurant as we wanted to explore the city but breakfast was really good. In the evening the bar was buzzing. We would definitely stay there again.

  • Great Hotel, great location
Great views of the boats and the snow covered mountains. The breakfasts and dinner were great, and really tasted of quality food. I would say all the food we had while in Iceland was great. The downstairs lounge was always busy with visitors, and locals, giving it a great atmosphere. Would certainly stay there again.

  • Lovely hotel
Thank goodness for the hotel and the wonderful staff. Everyone was exceptionally friendly, attentive and helpful. The hotel is in a good location, short walk to the main street, close to the shops and nightlife. The room was lovely, warm, clean and quiet. Beds are very comfortable too.

  • Lovely, quirky, comfortable hotel with friendly staff
What a great find this hotel was - I'd thoroughly recommend it! The rooms are on the small side, but very comfortable and well equipped. The bar / restaurant was great - a good atmosphere, and very buzzy. We ate there one lunchtime, and returned for puddings the next night too - the puddings are fabulous.

  • Place has a buzz
This is an unusual hotel with a great vibe. We stayed 5 nights in March and the hotel lobby/bar/restaurant were packed every night. We had a good room which was small but totally adequate. Had a nice view over the working harbour which we enjoyed...It is a great location however for restaurants and the rest of the city.

  • Quirky and achingly cool
Had a three night stay at the Marina, such a cool quirky place. The place seems to be staffed almost totally with under 25's who are so unbelievably friendly and helpful. The bar on a weekend is heaving with locals, but the movable bar in the reception does a mean cocktail, with less crowds. Breakfast is not to be missed.

In Touch with Iceland's Maritime Past & Present

Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Marina, steps from downtown Reykjavik, is situated in a completely renovated four-story building that has become a landmark among local residents. It is located next to the historical, and still fully functioning, dry-dock called Slippur. With an emphasis on blending the dynamic, creative atmosphere of this rapidly developing district with the country’s strong fishing traditions, the Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Marina offers everyone the opportunity to see and experience the capital at its most creative and colorful.

This Reykjavik hotel offers colorful and quirky design both inside and out. The lobby and other common areas are bright and whimsical, and feature colorful wallpaper, locally-sourced antiques and other fanciful odds and ends – bland and uniform it is not.  But, the hotel also strives to be warm and inviting and features lots of comfortable, cozy seating and other private areas as well as a large fireplace.
