Viking enthusiasts should make a stop at Viking World (Vikingaheimar), home to an exact replica of a ninth-century Viking vessel. In the year 2000, this ship sailed from Iceland to New York, in celebration of Leifur Eiríksson’s historic journey to North America. The current exhibition of the ship was developed in cooperation with the Smithsonian Institution.
