4. European Piano Teachers Association Conference

This year the European Piano Teachers Association (EPTA) is holding their 38th International Conference in Iceland. Their conference theme centers upon “Teaching in the 21st century, Modern Methods and Material.” The EPTA has a rich history of supporting piano music, competitions, the teachers and players of piano.

 

5. Arctic Circle Assembly

Location: Reykjavik

Date: October 7th – 9th, 2016

The Article Circle is the current largest, regular international gathering that focuses on the Arctic. The goal of the Arctic Circle is “to increase participation in Arctic dialogue and strengthen the international focus on the future of the Arctic.” Previous assemblies have been attended by more than 1500 participants from 50 countries. The Arctic Circle has also organized smaller forums in Alaska, Singapore, Québec, and Greenland.
