We are getting bigger... and better!
Icelandair Hotel Reykjavík Marina will expand with the addition of beautiful new rooms, delightful common areas on the ground floor and new, cosy facilities for Slippbarinn restaurant, where light, healthy meals will be served for eating in or to go. This will increase the size of Reykjavík Marina considerably and further enhance the hotel’s lively atmosphere.
39 new, elegant rooms will be made available to guests in May 2015. Like previous rooms, these will be decorated with interesting Icelandic design. The rooms are on four floors and of various types. New guest facilities are also scheduled to open this fall, located in two separate houses west of Reykjavík Marina’s main building. The focus there will be on luxurious surroundings and quality private services, designed to further increase the comforts on offer. One house will have a reception and a 60 m2 luxury suite on the next floor. The other house will have six 40 m2 luxury rooms.
The new restaurant facilities are exciting with plenty on offer to stimulate all senses. The focus will be on healthy dishes. Hotel guests and others will be able to grab light meals and coffee to go or enjoy light meals at the café from morning to evening, when Slippbarinn takes over. The café closes in the evenings, but the facilities will still be of use to hotel guests and those who prefer to withdraw from the bustle at Slippbarinn. The new common area will have facilities for events with up to 50 guests and another area for 25–30 people, well suited for all kinds of promotions or private parties.

Reykjavik Marina is located by a slipway in the old downtown harbour district of Reykjavik, where it has a unique view of the ocean. The slipway is a great location for a hotel, just a stone’s throw from the capital's attractions, with one of the best views across the bay. The harbour has seen a lot of development over the past few years with a number of great restaurants and markets being established in the area recently.
