Nature lovers will not be bored in the neighbourhood of Icelandair Hotel Vik. Only a four-minute walk from the hotel, the Atlantic Ocean slams into the black beach which has been voted one of the ten most beautiful beaches in the world. Taking a walk along the beach to recharge under the effects of the sea’s energy is an excellent idea. Vik is Iceland’s southern-most village, located mid-way along the south coast of Iceland. It is only a short distance from all the main attractions of the southern coast, such as the Reynisdrangar Pillars, Dyrholaey Island, Reynisfjara Beach, and Solheimajokull Glacier. All these natural gems and more can be viewed during a walk up Mt. Reynisfjall, under which the village nestles. What's more, the famous waterfalls Skogarfoss and Seljalandsfoss  are not far away. Birdlife is highly varied with the region boasting some of the largest colonies of puffin and Arctic Tern in Iceland. In addition, there are many other attractive species of seabirds that can be easily seen in the cliffs by the sea.
