Freshen up at Nauthólsvík Geothermal Beach

Take the arctic challenge and swim in the refreshingly cold Arctic sea water, warm up in the steam bath and enjoy the view from the longest hot tub in Iceland along the sea shore at Nautholsvik bay.

  • We recommend swimming along the beach, for safety reasons.
  • Free entrance with showers, a long outdoor hot tub and steam bath.
  • Bring your own food to cook at the barbecue on premises.
  • Thermal gloves, shoes, swim caps and refreshments sold on site.

Sea temperature ranges from +6°C to 16°C from May through August.

Cold bathing has several health benefits, including better looking skin, healthier hair, immunity, improved circulation, depression treatment, weight loss and increased testosterone levels*

Nauthólsvík geothermal beach is open from 10-19 every day from May 15 to August 15.
Free entrance

Directions:
Take bus no 19 towards the Reykjavik University building. Walk through or to the right of the building and head right towards the sea shore.
