The Hotel Manager
The hotel‘s manager Sveinn Hreiðar Jensson took over command at Klaustur in the autumn of 2011. Sveinn has years‘ of experience in the hotel trade and has worked as head waiter and restaurant manager both in Reykjavik and in the countryside. He received some of his education in hotel management in Switzerland where he graduated in 2011.
Sveinn grew up on a farm in the region surrounding Klaustur and knows the stories behind each and every mountain, as well as the local folklore. According to him, Lakagígar and the beach by Klaustur are the best kept secrets in the area, while the south of Fjallabak is one of Sveinn‘s favourite places in Iceland.
As the hotel‘s new manager, Sveinn brings a new focus to the way the hotel is run, with an emphasis on environmental-friendly solutions, as well as the usage of local products in the restaurant, such as arctic char or root vegetables and much more.
