Gay Pride

Reykjavik Marina
Reykjavik Natura
Hilton & VOX
August 6-11

Gay Pride is celebrated in early August every year in support of gay rights all over the world. Iceland has been progressive when it comes to the rights of homosexuals   with the Gay Pride celebrations becoming an established tradition that culminates in a spirited parade through downtown Reykjavík. The extravagant costumes, loud music and interesting performances attract a large number of people who have fun while supporting the gay community. Rainbow flags abound and there is joy everywhere, from the outdoor entertainment at Arnarhóll to the clubs at night, where everyone parties together, regardless of sexuality. Over time, Gay Pride in Iceland has become an event for the whole family, as friends and relatives gather to show support for gay rights and raise awareness.
