Eistnaflug

Akureyri
July 10-13

Eistnaflug is a music festival in Iceland that has taken place annually since the summer of 2005.
It is an indoor festival, situated in Neskaupstadur, a friendly little town in the Nordfjordur fjord on the Eastern coast of Iceland, about as far away from Reykjavik as it is possible to go and still be in Iceland. Every year, on the second weekend in July, the population of Neskaupstadur doubles, as music lovers flock to the peaceful town to celebrate music in all it´s glorious forms.

In the intervening years it has grown into a four day festival where metal, hardcore,
punk, rock, and indie bands share the stage.
In 2015 Eistnaflug was taken to another level with a move to a larger venue, and the number of bands were over 60.

Musically, Eistnaflug is a remarkable melting pot, with a few selected, prime foreign acts stacking up against a massive selection of all the great things the Icelandic music scene has to offer each year.
