Solborg has over 30 years of experience in the hotel business, including managing some of the Edda Hotels, a sister chain of Icelandair Hotels. She has experience in Iceland too: each summer, she travels somewhere different in the country with her husband and children. She loves the outdoors and has hiked along Fimmvorduhals, where the current volcanic eruption is taking place, and Hvannadaulshnukur, Iceland’s highest peak. Closer to town, Solborg has taken innumerable trips to Mt. Esja, a perfect spot for family hiking.
In the city, Solborg enjoys art exhibitions, theatre and concerts. In the hotel’s immediate vicinity, she always recommends that people visit Oskjuhlid Hill and Nautholsvik beach. Both are excellent outdoor areas with activities that suit the whole family, such as biking, hiking and sea swimming—if you’re brave enough!
